Chandigarh cricketer Nandini Sharma has earned a place in the Indian women’s cricket squad for the 2026 Asian Games, set to take place in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan, this September. India will defend the gold medal they won at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games.
Nandini’s selection follows a string of consistent performances in domestic cricket and India A outings. Earlier this year, she gained valuable exposure while representing India A in the ACC Rising Star Women’s Asia Cup. She has played for Punjab and the UTCA across Under-19, Under-23, and senior-level BCCI tournaments, with notable showings in the Senior Women’s Inter Zonal Tournament, Women’s T20 Challenger Trophy, and Senior Women’s One Day Challenger Trophy.
She has also been part of the Delhi Capitals Women’s team in the WPL, where she competed alongside top international stars, an experience that helped propel her into the national T20 squad for the ongoing England tour.
UTCA President Saraansh Tandon congratulated Nandini, calling her selection a proud moment for Chandigarh cricket. He praised her dedication, discipline, and consistency, and expressed confidence that she would contribute significantly to the team while inspiring young cricketers from the region.
