Lucknow: After a disappointing performance in the first half of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) made a great comeback and qualified for the playoffs. However, on Wednesday, they had to face defeat in the eliminator match played against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and with this their campaign ended. With this, the happiness of RCB fans did not last long and now former Indian cricketer Kris Srikkanth has sharply criticized their way of celebrating.

Srikanth says that when you are doing good, you should not show off it too much and move ahead quietly. This gesture of the former veteran player was for the fans of Bengaluru, who were celebrating after RCB's victory against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In fact, after winning only one match out of the first 8 matches, Bengaluru made a tremendous comeback and qualified for the playoffs by winning the next 6 consecutive matches. They had qualified in the top-4 by defeating CSK by 27 runs. Now the former Indian cricketer, while talking on his YouTube channel, has criticized the fans of Bengaluru.
He said, “In life when you are doing well, keep your mouth shut and move ahead quietly. When you make noise about something, you will not be able to do it. They were posting videos on social media without any reason and were showing off too much after the victory against CSK. That is why Ravichandran Ashwin came and completely took them out of the game and that is why in cricket you need to play with your mouth shut.”
Srikkanth further said, “If you play well, you will get congratulations for that and if you play poorly, you will get criticism for that. However, you should never open your mouth and show such aggression. They qualified for the playoffs and are congratulating themselves for a great comeback, CSK and MI have done this many times before. Mumbai and Chennai have also won the title many times after coming from the bottom. These people won 6 matches and as soon as they qualified, they were out.”
