Lucknow: There is a discussion about former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni whether he has played his last IPL. The answer to this question has been given by CSK CEO Kashi Vishwanathan. Let us tell you that on 18 May 2024, Dhoni made his last appearance in the IPL at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. He played an innings of 25 runs on 13 balls in this match, which was not enough to take CSK to the playoffs as they lost by 27 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Chennai's journey in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 ended in the league stage itself. Since then, there is a discussion among the fans whether MS has played his last IPL match. It is expected that Mahi will hardly be seen playing in this league now but the final decision has to be taken by the former CSK captain. However, he has not made any official statement regarding this yet, but during a conversation with Chennai Super Kings, Vishwanathan has given great information about this.
He said, “This is a question which only MS can answer. See, it has always been important for us that we have respected the decisions taken by Dhoni. We have left it completely up to him and you know he has taken all the decisions at the appropriate time and announced it. I hope he will be available for CSK next season. These are my and the fans' opinions and expectations.”
Let us tell you that during IPL 2024, the 42-year-old played the role of finisher for Chennai very well. This season, Dhoni left the captaincy of Chennai and he was playing only as a player. This season Mahi batted well and hit some big shots in the last overs. Dhoni played a total of 14 matches in IPL 2024, in which he scored 161 runs with an impressive strike rate of 220.55.
