The sixth edition of The Hundred, English cricket’s 100-ball white-ball competition, is set to begin from Tuesday, July 21.
The tournament will kick off with a double-header that sees MI London take on Sunrisers Leeds across the men’s and women’s competitions.
Four Indians are set to feature in the women’s section of The Hundred this year. Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues were pre-signed by Manchester Super Giants and Southern Brave respectively, while Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh were signed to Sunrisers Leeds and Manchester Super Giants in the auction.
Both players were signed at base price.
Other members of India’s World Cup-winning squad including Shafali Varma, Radha Yadav, and N. Sree Charani were unable to find bidders despite being in the auction.
There are no Indians set to play in the men’s section of the competition.
