Prince made an immediate impact with the ball on Saturday, dismissing two Zimbabwe batters while conceding just 10 runs. His promising spell, however, was cut short when he pulled up with a hamstring injury during his second over and was forced to leave the field.

Following the match, Shreyas Iyer confirmed that the injury would likely lead to changes for Sunday’s series finale, suggesting that the team management would not risk the young pacer.

“One of our players got injured unfortunately, so you might see a few changes tomorrow,” Iyer said after the match.

With Prince expected to miss the third T20I, the race to fill the vacant pace-bowling spot appears to be between Ashok Sharma and Mayank Yadav, both of whom are waiting for an opportunity on the bench.

Opportunity Knocks for India’s Bench Strength

The dead rubber also presents India with an ideal opportunity to assess the depth of their squad ahead of future assignments.

Although Ishan Kishan starred with a match-winning 81 and Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 60 in the previous game, the management could opt to hand wicketkeeper-batsman Prabhsimran Singh a chance in the playing XI to evaluate another top-order option.
