Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad are competing in Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League 2024. Trent Boult struck the first blow as he dismissed Hyderabad’s opener Abhishek Sharma in the first over of the contest. The southpaw hit the legendary bowler for a six and four but Boult had the last laugh.
Boult has taken seven wickets in the first over in the 17th season. He has an average of 10.7 and an economy rate of 5 in the first over of the contest.
Former India player Navjot Singh Sidhu heaped massive praise on the New Zealand pacer.
“He is getting better with age. Abhishek hit him for 10 runs in two balls but Boult used his experience to dismiss the batter. He is the most dangerous bowler when the field restrictions are on. Boult is doing this for years and no batter has been able to score runs against him,” Sidhu said on Star Sports.
Trent added two more wickets to his bowling figures. He dismissed Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram.
Rahul scored 37 runs off 15 balls, laced with 5 fours and 2 sixes. Aiden was undone for just 1 run.
