The England wk-batter Jos Buttler has praised the 15-year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi to surpass his T20 records in cricket history.

Jos Buttler made a stunning 20-ball 51* during The Hundred 2026 match played between Manchester Super Giants and Welsh Fire.

He completed his fifty with two fours and six sixes at a strike rate of 250.00. In 522 T20S, Jos Buttler has over 14,833 runs with nine centuries and 105 fifties, surpassing Kieron Pollard’s 14, 803 runs in 746 matches with two centuries and Chris Gayle’s 14,562 runs in 463 matches with 22 centuries and 88 fifties.

Jos Buttler became the highest run scorer in T20 cricket but said that the record will eventually be broken by Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

“It’s really cool, actually, to think you’ve got the most T20 runs out of anyone. Someone will surpass it one day – and his name’s probably (Vaibhav) Sooryavanshi –, but it’s a proud moment,” said Jos Buttler.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi had a remarkable start in T20I cricket, scoring 151 runs in three matches against Zimbabwe to claim his maiden Player of the Series after India completed a 3-0 sweep.

He also had an impressive campaign in the Men’s U19 CWC earlier this year, where he amassed 439 runs and was named Player of the Tournament.

Jos Buttler said he would like to overtake Kieron Pollard while playing against MI London, with Pollard watching as the head coach. He also expressed his pride at joining a list of T20 legends.

“We played against MI London last game, and it would have been nice to get past Polly while he was there, sat in the dugout, but there are some great names on there, some special players, so I’m really proud of that,” Jos Buttler said.

Coming to the game, Welsh Fire batted first and scored 155/4 in 100 balls. Chasing the target, MSG’s guns Tim Seifert (62*), Paul Walter (37), and Jos Buttler (51*) run has set up a 9-wicket victory in the clash.
