Former India cricketer makes massive claim around Yashasvi Jaiswal ahead of ODI World Cup 2027
With the 2027 ODI World Cup approaching, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has made a surprising prediction about Yashasvi Jaiswal. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra claimed that neither Jaiswal nor Ruturaj Gaikwad will make India's final squad for the mega event.
Chopra explained that Jaiswal is only seen as a backup opener, while Gaikwad can bat in multiple positions. However, he feels the team management will prefer all-rounders like Nitish Kumar Reddy, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel. With two wicketkeepers also needed, likely KL Rahul and either Ishan Kishan or Rishabh Pant, there will simply be no room for the two young batters.
Meanwhile, India's immediate focus shifts to the Test series against Sri Lanka, starting August 15 in Galle. The two-match series is crucial for India's World Test Championship final hopes.
