Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan climbed to the top ten international wicket-takers in the history of the game after another excellent display against Ireland in the fourth ODI in Belfast. Rashid took career-best 3/49 from his 10 overs as Afghanistan rolled over Ireland to post an emphatic win and take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match ODI series.

The three wickets helped Rashid Khan to surpass Mohammed Shami of India, who had 462 wickets from 243 matches, and move to the 13th position in the all-time list. Rashid finished with 464 wickets from 244 games. Rashid was placed ninth in the world in active bowlers with an average of 17.15, 14 four-wicket hauls and three five-wicket innings, while his best figures remain outstanding 7/18.

Australia's Mitchell Starc continues to lead the pack in the list of active international players. The left-arm seamer holds the record for the most wickets by any current bowler in the world. Starc has taken a total of 759 wickets in his 14-year international career at an average of 25.28, including 27 instances of 5 or more wickets in an innings and 3 hauls of 10 wickets in a match. His best bowling figures remain 7/58.

Meanwhile, Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan continues to hold the record for the most international wickets in overall matches. Muralitharan concluded his legendary career with a tally of 1,347 wickets in 495 matches at an astonishing average of 22.86, including 77 instances of 4 or more wickets in an innings and 22 hauls of 5 or more wickets in a match. The left-hander also registered the best bowling figures of 9/51.

Rashid's recent achievement came on Afghanistan's emphatic win over Ireland. The visitors won the toss and elected to bowl first, but Ireland's top order laid a huge platform for the home team.

Sediqullah Atal remained not out on 143 from 120 balls as he hit 17 fours and 4 sixes, while Ibrahim Zadran remained unbeaten on 107 from 118 balls, which included 11 fours and a six. The two batters' efforts enabled Afghanistan to post 343/9 in 50 overs.

Zadran also broke a special milestone in his century knock. The right-hander became the eighth Afghan batsman to reach 2,000 ODI runs, with his current tally of 2,105 runs in 45 matches at an average of 50.11. He also boasts of 7 centuries and 10 fifties in ODIs, with his best knock of 177 runs.

Byron McDonough was the best bowler for Ireland as he accounted for 3/84, while Mark Adair and Gavin Hoey each picked up 2 wickets.

In reply, Ireland's chase was initially boosted by Andy Balbirnie's brilliant 109 from 119 balls, which featured 9 fours and 3 sixes. However, a superb lower-order onslaught from Curtis Campher saw the lanky batter slam 84 from 46 balls as he cracked 8 fours and 5 sixes.

However, Afghanistan's bowlers finally sent the Irish top order packing, with Yamin Ahmadzai registering 4/71 and Rashid claiming 3/49 as Ireland were eventually bowled out for 301 in 48 overs.

Afghanistan's emphatic victory saw them register a 3-0 series win with a game to spare after winning the second match of the series. Atal's brilliant century earned him the Player of the Match honours, as Rashid's 3 wickets contributed significantly to Pakistan's win.
