Delhi: Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has proposed changes in the schedule of the T20 International series against India. According to India Today report, the Afghanistan Board has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to hold the first or second match of the three matches on September 14. This date is Ganesh Chaturthi.

Proposal to hold the match on 14th September

According to the current schedule, the first T20 match between India and Afghanistan is to be played on 13 September, the second match on 15 September and the third match on 17 September.

Afghanistan will host all three matches, but all the matches will be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

The Afghanistan Board wants one of these matches to be organized on September 14. However, change in the schedule will be possible only when BCCI approves this proposal. Till then the existing program will remain in force.

Home series against India for the first time

This series is very special for Afghanistan cricket.

This will be the first time that Afghanistan will officially host India. However, due to domestic circumstances it cannot hold its matches in Afghanistan, hence New Delhi has been chosen as the temporary home ground.

India's busy schedule in September

The Indian team's schedule in September is already quite busy. The situation is not completely clear yet regarding the proposed tour against Bangladesh. Talks are going on between the two boards on this matter and for any new program the Indian Cricket Board will have to discuss with the government.

In such a situation, the T20 series against Afghanistan is currently one of the major international programs of India. If the proposal is approved, then on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi on September 14, we can see a contest between India and Afghanistan.
