David Warner heaped massive praise on Bangladesh for their nine-wicket win over Australia in the first Test of the two-match series Down Under. Chasing just 57 to take a 1-0 lead, the visitors completed the task in the second session of Day 4 at the Marrara Stadium in Darwin.

Mominul Haque scored an unbeaten 30 runs off 39 balls, with the help of two boundaries, while the opener Shadman Islam managed 25 not out, including four boundaries.

Bangladesh are ranked ninth in the ICC Test Rankings, and they went past the challenge of the No. 1 team in the world.

Earlier, Australia resumed their second innings on 161 for 4, with Cameron Green going strong. Although he completed a hundred, the remaining batters were unable to handle Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who took five wickets to restrict the home to 284.

When Bangladesh lost the first innings centurion Tanzid Hasan for a duck, the hosts thought of putting some pressure on the sub-continent team. However, Mominul and Shadman ensured that Bangladesh ended up winning the contest.

They should enjoy their win for a few days before getting ready for the second Test. Hasan Mahmud was named the Player of the Match for taking nine wickets in the game. He dismissed 6 batters in the first innings and claimed three scalps in the second essay.

It was a big turnaround for the visitors, having been dismissed for 54 runs in one of the innings of the practice game before the start of the bilateral assignment Down Under.
