Explosive batting of Swastik Chikara and Rinku Singh, deadly bowling of Zeeshan Ansari led to spectacular victory of Meerut.

In the 16th match of Uttar Pradesh T20 League, Meerut Mavericks performed brilliantly and defeated Gorakhpur Lions by 10 wickets. Due to rain, the match was reduced to 8 overs each, in which the Meerut team maintained dominance in both batting and bowling.

Gorakhpur Lions' innings ended at 91 runs.

Gorakhpur Lions team, who came to bat first after the toss, could score only 91 runs after losing 6 wickets in the stipulated 8 overs. Abhay Pratap Singh scored the maximum 33 runs on behalf of the team. He hit 4 fours and 2 sixes in 16 balls. Whereas Aryan Chaudhary contributed 15 runs on 8 balls.

Meerut Mavericks bowler Zeeshan Ansari performed brilliantly and took 4 important wickets for just 10 runs in 2 overs. Karthik Tyagi and Vishal Chaudhary also stopped Gorakhpur's batting by taking one wicket each.

Swastik Chikara and Rinku Singh created havoc

While chasing the target of 92 runs, Meerut Mavericks had a very aggressive start. Opener Swastik Chikara played an unbeaten inning of 44 runs. He hit 4 fours and 3 sixes in 24 balls.

After this, captain Rinku Singh showed a stormy style as soon as he came on the field. Rinku Singh scored 29 runs in just 7 balls, which included 2 fours and 3 sixes. His strike rate was 414.29.

Target achieved without losing wickets

Meerut Mavericks achieved the target of 92 runs in just 6.4 overs without losing any wicket. The team won this match with 10 wickets and 8 balls remaining. With this big win, Meerut Mavericks have further strengthened their position in the points table of UP T20 League.
