Day 4: Sooriyabandara’s innings and the Indian bowlers’ onslaught

In the second innings for Sri Lanka, Pasindu Sooriyabandara scored 92 runs and Kamindu Mendis scored a fighting knock of 55 runs to steady the team.

The two shared a 115-run partnership for the third wicket. However, Indian spinner Manav Sutar got Sooriyabandara stumped to give India a comeback. Manav Sutar took two wickets for India, while Ravindra Jadeja, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, and Saransh Jain each took one wicket.
