A stunning century from Saim Ayub has set up Kingsmen for an 11-run victory against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the game played at Basseterre.

He smashed 102 off 58 balls, including 6 fours and 8 sixes, helping the side post a decent total against the Patriots. With this win, Kingsmen climbed to the fourth spot in the CPL 2026 Points table.

Being invited to bat first, Kingsmen openers Keacy Carty and Maaz Sadaqat were sent out cheaply for 0 and 2, respectively.

Naseem Shah bagged the wickets of the openers in the powerplay. With Saim Ayub and Kirk McKenzie at the crease, Kingsmen scored 42 runs in the powerplay.

McKenzie and Usman Khan lost their wickets at the interval, while Ayub went on to smash fifty and continued onslaugter.

Meanwhile, Rovman Powell and Keemo Paul did add some crucial contributions, while Saim Ayub completed his century before being dismissed by Obed McCoy.

With Keemo Paul and Vitel Lawes at the crease, Kingsmen went on to score 182 runs. Naseem Shah, Wanindu Hasaranga and Obed McCoy bagged two wickets each.

Chasing the 183-run target, Johnson Charles and Kyle Myer opened the innings. However, a shaky start from the openers has put the Patriots in a tough spot.

Charles added 14 runs while Myers got dismissed for 8 runs. Blades bagged their second wicket, dismissing Wickham for 1 run, as St Kitts and Nevis Patriots lost three wickets in the powerplay.

With Andre Fletcher and Mikyle Louis at the crease, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots scored 42 runs in the powerplay.

Hunain Shah bagged his first wicket, dismissing Mikyle Louis for 9 runs. However, Andre Fletcher and Jason Holder put on a 48-run partnership, stabilising the innings.

Fletcher scored 55 runs off 38 deliveries before being dismissed by Saim Ayub. Jason Holder added 34 runs off 23 deliveries before being dismissed by Hunain Shah.

However, Dasun Shanaka fired a quick 18-ball 35 runs, which included 1 four and 4 sixes. By the end of 20 overs, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots scored 171/6 but failed to chase the target and lost the game by 11 runs.

Jediah Blades and Hunain Shah bagged two wickets each, while Saim Ayub and Keemo Paul took one wicket each.

Saim Ayub was named as the Player of the Match. Speaking at the post-match presentation, Ayub said, “I enjoy everything – the atmosphere and the people; it’s just love. Just played with the flow. Some planning – what bowler to hit and what not to hit. I have teammates who are experts at hitting sixes; it makes it easier for me. Bowling is one thing I tell my teammates not to expect much from me; just look to enjoy it.”
