Former England player Eoin Morgan was one of the commentators during the first half of the Indian Premier League 2024. He was impressed with the scoring rate in the 17th season, as the pattern was different from the previous seasons.

Although Sunrisers Hyderabad lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in the final, they changed the way cricket is played in the tournament.

“I was there in the first half, and I loved every part of the league. The most impressive was the way runs were scored in comparison to the previous seasons and how the teams used the Impact Player rule.

“Sunrisers Hyderabad were the trendsetters. It came in the form of Travis Head, who didn’t play at the start of the season. SRH were forced to include him in their Playing XI after a couple of games.

“The way he batted not only impacted the playing style of Abhishek (Sharma) but his overall impact on IPL 2024 was wonderful to see. The rival franchises were forced to rethink their planning against the Sunrisers.

“Their hitting was on a different planet, and the level of consistency they achieved shook up other sides. I loved their style,” Eoin Morgan said on SKY Sports.

Head, Abhishek, and Heinrich Klaasen score around 60 percent of the total runs of SRH in IPL 2024.

In 15 games, Head scored 567 runs at a strike rate of 191.55. Abhishek accumulated 484 runs at a strike rate of 204.21.
