Shah announced the reward on X.

“The unsung heroes of our successful T20 season are the incredible ground staff who worked tirelessly to provide brilliant pitches, even in difficult weather conditions. As a token of our appreciation, the groundsmen and curators at the 10 regular IPL venues will receive INR 25 lakhs each, and the same at the 3 additional venues will get INR 10 lakhs each. Thank you for your dedication and hard work!”

The IPL 2024 season was a high-scoring affair, with all 10 teams thriving at the crease. Records were scripted throughout the tournament as the pitches proved to be exceptionally batting-friendly. Despite missing out on the title, Sunrisers Hyderabad set the record for the highest team score in IPL history – 287/3 – when they faced Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers Bengaluru last month at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Earlier, Sunrisers scored an impressive 277/3 against MI in Hyderabad. Punjab Kings failed to reach the playoffs but capped off the highest successful run-chase in IPL history, chasing down 262 runs against the Knight Riders at Eden Gardens.

A record-breaking 1260 sixes were hit over the course of the IPL tournament, the most in a single season. DC’s Jake Fraser-McGurk stood out, scoring two half-centuries off just 15 balls. Meanwhile, bowlers like Sunil Narine and Jasprit Bumrah found success.
