Kolkata in the final: Hence, the 5th wicket pair of Heinrich Klaasen and Rahul Tripathi put on a 62-run partnership for the Hyderabad team, which was initially faltering at 39/4. Chasing 160 runs, Rishabh Menon and Rishabh Pant shared an opening partnership of 44 runs before Natarajan was dismissed for 23 (14).

In the next few overs, Sunil Narine faltered on the other side and was bowled out by skipper Cummins for 21 (16). But the next pair of Venkatesh Iyer and skipper Shreyas Iyer took action against the Hyderabad bowlers. Hyderabad threw away a few catches given by the pair.

The pair took advantage of this with Venkatesh scoring 51* (28) and captain Shreyas Iyer scoring 58* (24) to give a brilliant finish. Thus Kolkata scored 164/2 in 13.4 overs and easily won by 8 wickets and became the first team to qualify for the final to be held in Chennai.
